English as a Second Language Beginnings English as a Second Language
Beginnings is a program designed for students who are just beginning to
learn the language. This class gives you the chance to practice your
spoken English. We will work on pronunciation, grammar and understanding
what you hear. Each class is planned around a specific theme or skill.
This class is held at the Cold Lake Public Library, South Branch.. Dates: January

English as a Second Language Continues English as a Second Language
Continues gives you the chance to practice what you learned in our
Beginnings class. . We will work on progressively more difficult
pronunciation, grammar and understanding what you hear. Each class is

English as a Second Language Reading Circle English as a Second Language
Reading Circle is a new club for ESL students who have already reached
an intermediate level of written and spoken English. On its' own or in
addition to another ESL class this program will give participants an
opportunity to practice both reading and speaking English. This class
will start when sufficient numbers are enrolled. Dates: TBA

Conversational Spanish Level I (Beginner)
Cover the basics of greeting, introductions, time, weather, getting around
and more. A Latin American Spanish Dictionary & Phrase book will be
required and will be available for sale at the first class for a cost of

Instructor: TBA General Interest Courses Digital Photography - Beginner and Intermediate Using a digital cameral involves more than just technical know-how... Come out and learn the basics and explore lighting, composition, depth of field and how to turn you basic shot into a fabulous shot. This two session workshop will teach you the technical and practical side of digital cameras, and will also allow you to use your creativity. This class will start once we have a minimum of 5 participants.

Scraplifters Club Make a 12" x 12" 4 page scrapbook using amazing techniques that you will be able to continue using at home. This is a two evening class and depending on the interest shown, a second two week class may be offered.

Gratitude Mini Album - Scrapbooking This is a great way to consciously call attention to the things for which we are grateful for everyday! Each of the pages within this album will focus on the blessings in your life ie: children, health, family, friends, work. This will be a guided project, with each page featuring a different technique. Techniques include: stamping, distressing, inking, resisting, antiquing, texturizing, flocking, punching, and die cutting. Stop by the Learning center to view the completed album or view photos on my website early next week. The skill level for this class will be for beginners to intermediate, but rest assured that the final project will look like it was completed by an advanced scrapbooker! Bring a paper cutter if you have one please.

This is a great project that can show off your artistic abilities as well as a precious family photo. Techniques include painting, masking, resisting, journaling, stamping and distressing. Learn collage techniques as well as how to transfer parts of your photographs onto canvas using melted beeswax! This is by far my most exciting class! View an image of final project on my website in mid May. The theme will vary according to the photos you send me ahead of time as I will have to prep them before the class. Once you are registered we will discuss personalizing your canvas! Supplies are included but a basic toolkit would be helpful

Tutor Training
We will be holding Tutor Training sessions throughout 2010. If you are interested in becoming a Tutor or you just want to learn more about tutoring adults, give us a call. Our first session will cover goal setting and planning lessons. Cost is free to our Tutors and a nominal fee will be charged to other interested individuals.
